Fiaticorti 19, international festival of short films, is back to animate the autumn in the province of Treviso. Announced the 23 finalists, the dates of the screenings and the awarding ceremony.

Istrana (TV) - Announced the 23 international short films, 5 of which dedicated to Veneto, selected from hundreds of proposals from all over the world that will be shown during the Fiaticorti Festival in Istrana, Treviso, in the month of October.

The exclusive screenings will be distributed in the four evenings of October 5th, 12th, 19th and 20th (below the detailed calendar) during which it will also be possible to meet the artistic direction of the Festival composed by Bartolo Ayroldi, Andrea Grespan, Simone Perotto and attend the analysis and talk with the public.
The 23 finalists come from Moldova, Brazil, Australia, Belgium, France, Italy, Iran, the Netherlands, Spain and they enrich the list of selected films that increases to 500 short films in 19 editions of the Festival. An important cultural heritage that is of enormous value for the Municipality of Istrana, which has been organizing the Festival for nineteen editions in collaboration with the local Pro Loco, Progetto Giovani of Istrana and the Air Force 51°stormo.

The awarding ceremony will take place on Friday, October 26th, inside the Cinema Theater of the military airport of Istrana (TV), a unique place, open in an exceptional way for the closing event of Fiaticorti. During the evening the protagonists will be the directors and the jury composed this year by Alessandro Cinquegrani, historic juror of Fiaticorti, the philosopher Umberto Curi and the director Marco Segato.

The prizes awarded will be the Fiaticorti Award for the best short film, the Fiaticorti Award for the best actor or actress and the FiatiVeneti Award for the best short film of the special section dedicated to works by filmmakers living in Veneto or short films that relate to Veneto because of their themes or settings.
In addition to the official jury there will be a popular jury, composed mainly of local associations, which will give its own vision of the international expressiveness of the 23 finalist short films.

This is how the Festival Director Bartolo Ayroldi comments on the participation in this nineteenth edition of the Festival: "The short films received this year present a critical picture of the family, in continuation with what we saw at the 2018 edition. But unlike last year, where there was mostly an absence of the parental figure, this year the parent is more authoritarian and repressive, especially in the European works, and this sometimes leads to rebellion, to emotional contrast and to the attempt to recover a lost serenity. This vision of the relationship "parent-child" is the narrative transposition of the difficult relationship between the people and the institutions whose distance is generating, in Europe, phenomena of remoteness and protest.”
